February 2013 More Clip Art

I have been putting words on pictures and writing messages for my Facebook page. You are welcome to come visit.
2-4-13 Wash Day

Happy Monday, everyone. Have a great week, and be glad that things are not what they used to be.

We did not get our own first wash machine until we had been married for 6 years, when we moved into our first rental house. It was another few years before we had a dryer when a friend gave us an old one. I hung dry clothes in our backyard for a long time. I'm thankful for those days, and I'm thankful life is easier in many ways now.

See Isaiah Chapter 9.
2-9-13 Boy Jesus
Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. (Luke 2:52)

Like the rest of us, Jesus grew from grace to grace. He was tried and tested, but he gave no heed to temptation. I am thankful for His purity and love.

2-10-13 Doubt

And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? (Matthew 14:31)

Whatever Jesus desires us to do, He will also help us to do it. Sometimes we want to do things (our own desires) before we are ready to do them. We need to trust the Lord and seek His will.

2-10-13 Jesus With Baby

" And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." (Luke 18:15-16)

As a perfect Son, Jesus loves our Father perfectly. As a perfect parent, Jesus loves us all perfectly. He delights in the purity, innocence, and goodness of little children.

"Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:4)

2-11-13 Family

1. I have a fam'ly here on earth.
They are so good to me.
I want to share my life with them through all eternity.

(Chorus)
Fam'lies can be together forever
Through Heav'nly Father's plan.
I always want to be with my own family,
And the Lord has shown me how I can.
The Lord has shown me how I can.

2. While I am in my early years,
I'll prepare most carefully,
So I can marry in God's temple for eternity.

Music: Vanja Y. Watkins, b. 1938. (c) 1980 IRI

Happy Valentine's Day.

2-12-13 Commandments

I am thankful for the love of our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Keeping the commandments is the best Valentine we can give them.

2-12-13 Hearts

Love, look at the two of us
Strangers in many ways
We've got a lifetime to share
So much to say and as we go on from day to day
I'll feel you close to me
But time alone will tell
Let's take a lifetime to say
I knew you well
For only time will tell us so
And love may grow for all we know

Love, look at the two of us
Strangers in many ways
Let's take a lifetime to say
I know you well
But only time will tell us so
And love may grow for all we know

2-13-13 Jesus

1. I think when I read that sweet story of old,
When Jesus was here among men,
How he called little children like lambs to his fold;
I should like to have been with him then.

2. I wish that his hands had been placed on my head,
That his arms had been thrown around me,
That I might have seen his kind look when he said,
"Let the little ones come unto me."

2-13-13 Jesus Stories

Tell me the stories of Jesus I love to hear;
Things I would ask Him to tell me if He were here;
Scenes by the wayside, tales of the sea,
Stories of Jesus, tell them to me.

First let me hear how the children stood round His knee,
And I shall fancy His blessing resting on me;
Words full of kindness, deeds full of grace,
All in the love light of Jesus’ face.

Tell me, in accents of wonder, how rolled the sea,
Tossing the boat in a tempest on Galilee;
And how the Maker, ready and kind,
Chided the billows, and hushed the wind.

Into the city I’d follow the children’s band,
Waving a branch of the palm tree high in my hand.
One of His heralds, yes, I would sing
Loudest hosannas, “Jesus is King!”

Show me that scene in the garden, of bitter pain.
Show me the cross where my Savior for me was slain.
Sad ones or bright ones, so that they be
Stories of Jesus, tell them to me.

Words: W. H. Parker, 1845-1929
Music: Frederic A. Challinor, 1866-1952

2-15-13 Favored

Favored little ones were they,
Who towards him Jesus drew!
Who within his arms he took
Just as loving parents do,
Christ the Lord “Our living head.”
This of little children said,
“Such shall of my kingdom be,
Suffer them to come to me.”
Listen to the Savior’s plea,
“Let the children come to me.”

2-15-13 Peace

37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

(Mark 35:37-39)

1. Master, the tempest is raging!
The billows are tossing high!
The sky is o'ershadowed with blackness.
No shelter or help is nigh.
Carest thou not that we perish?
How canst thou lie asleep
When each moment so madly is threat'ning
A grave in the angry deep?

(Chorus)
The winds and the waves shall obey thy will:
Peace, be still.
Whether the wrath of the storm-tossed sea
Or demons or men or whatever it be,
No waters can swallow the ship where lies
The Master of ocean and earth and skies.
They all shall sweetly obey thy will:
Peace, be still; peace, be still.
They all shall sweetly obey thy will:
Peace, peace, be still.

2. Master, with anguish of spirit
I bow in my grief today.
The depths of my sad heart are troubled.
Oh, waken and save, I pray!
Torrents of sin and of anguish
Sweep o'er my sinking soul,
And I perish! I perish! dear Master.
Oh, hasten and take control!

3. Master, the terror is over.
The elements sweetly rest.
Earth's sun in the calm lake is mirrored,
And heaven's within my breast.
Linger, O blessed Redeemer!
Leave me alone no more,
And with joy I shall make the blest harbor
And rest on the blissful shore.

2-16-13 Follow

Jesus is at the helm.

We have been called to help save our brothers and sisters. This is a happy work to be engaged in.

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. (Matthew 4:19-20)

And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father! And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me! 2-20-13 Sheep

“Christianity is not about building an absolutely secure little niche in the world where you can live with your perfect little wife and your perfect little children in your beautiful little house… Christianity is about learning to love like Jesus loved and Jesus loved the poor and Jesus loved the broken.” – Rich Mullins

15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

2-21-13 I Wonder

1. I wonder, when He comes again,
Will herald angels sing?
Will earth be white with drifted snow,
Or will the world know spring?
I wonder if one star will shine
Far brighter than the rest;
Will daylight stay the whole night through?
Will songbirds leave their nests?
I'm sure He'll call his little ones
Together 'round his knee,
Because He said in days gone by,
"Suffer them to come to me."

2. I wonder, when He comes again,
Will I be ready there
To look upon His loving face
And join with Him in prayer?
Each day I'll try to do His will
And let my light so shine
That others seeing me may seek
For greater light divine.
Then, when that blessed day is here,
He'll love me and he'll say,
"You've served me well, my little child;
Come unto my arms to stay."

3. I wonder when He come
Will all the nations bring
Their children to His waiting arms
To hear the angels sing?
And as they heed His loving voice
And seek His outstretched hands
Will children of the world rejoice
To finally understand
That only as we do His will
Can happiness increase,
That love alone will make this world
A haven of His peace?

2-21-12 Sing

Sing.
Sing a song.
Sing out loud, sing out strong.
Sing of good things, not bad.
Sing of happy, not sad.
Sing.
Sing a song.
Make it simple to last your whole life long.
Don´t worry that it´s not good enough for anyone else to hear.
Just sing.
Sing a song.
La La La La La La
La La La La La La
La La La La La La
Sing. Sing a song.
Let the world.
Sing along.
Sing of love there, could be.
Sing for you and for me.
Sing a song.
Make it simple to last your whole life long.
Don´t worry that it´s not good enough for anyone else to hear.
Just sing, sing a song.

2-21-12 Siblings

I was blessed to have three sisters and three brothers. No matter how near or far apart we are, they are always close to my heart. I love them every one.

2-22-13 A Wonder

Work to connect yourself to the allness of life -- instead of identifying with the smallness of it -- and you'll awaken to a greatness already living within you that is no more bothered by the little things in life than a mountain is made miserable by the rain that falls upon it. (Guy Finley)

2-22-13 Jesus Friend

1. Jesus is our loving friend.
He is always near.
He will guide us when we pray;
Ev'ry child is dear.

2. Rev'rently and sweetly now,
We our voices raise.
Jesus is our loving friend,
And we sing his praise.

2-22-13 Everything

Yes, God did create all things for our enjoyment and our growth. Take time to feel the wonder of it all.

For the earth is full, and there is enough and to spare; yea, I prepared all things, and have given unto the children of men to be agents unto themselves.

2-23-12 Mourne

O Danny Boy

Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flow'rs are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.

But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh, Danny boy, oh, Danny boy, I love you so.

And if you come, and all the flowers are dying
If I am dead, as dead I well may be
I pray you'll find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.

And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me
And all my grave will warm and sweeter be
And then you'll kneel and whisper that you love me
And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me.

2-25-13 Jesus

Jesus cares for the black sheep, as you can see!
And I know that Jesus cares for me.

4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

(Luke 15:4-7)

2-24-13 Sleeping Beauty

As parents, we want the absolute best for all of our children. Then we remember that we are not their only parents. They have loving heavenly parents, too.

Often, when I would look at one of my sleeping children, I would turn my thoughts to Heavenly Father in prayer, asking Him to watch over my sweet little baby.

Parents' faith and prayers on behalf of their children are a great positive force for good. Not only do the children feel the love of their earthly parents, but they are encompassed about with heavenly love as well.

We need to continue to pray for our children, even when they are old and gray.

2-25-13 Same Song

With all of our great individuality, we also have so much in common.

My hair is black and red
My hair is yellow
My eyes are brown and green and blue
My name is Jack and Fred
My name's Amanda Sue
I'm called Kareem Abdul
My name is you

I live in southern France
I'm from a Texas ranch
I come from Mecca and Peru
I live across the street
In the mountains, on a beach
I come from everywhere
And my name is you

We all sing with the same voice
The same song, the same voice
We all sing with the same voice
And we sing in harmony

Sometimes I get mad and mean
Sometimes I feel happy
And when I want to cry, I do
When I'm by myself at night
I hold my teddy tight
Until the morning light
My name is you

I have sisters one, two, three
In my family there's just me
I've got one daddy; I've got two
Grandpa helps me cross the street
My cat walks on furry feet
I love my parakeet
My name is you

We all sing with the same voice
The same song, the same voice
We all sing with the same voice
And we sing in harmony

I like to run and climb
I like to sit and read
I like to watch my TV, too
And when it's time for bed
I like my stories read
"Sweet dreams" and "Love you" said
My name is you

We all sing with the same voice
The same song, the same voice
We all sing with the same voice
And we sing in harmony

2-27-13 Home

A house becomes a home when there's love inside,
When you let your love be as a guide,
When there's joy and sweet understanding
When you're handing out a compliment or two.
A house becomes a home when you do your part,
And when all your heart is wrapped in those around,
Life can be just like a symphony
When you see a house become a home.

A house becomes a home when it's peaceful there,
When for everyone there is a care,
When each one is kind and forgiving
When you're living for some happiness to share.
A house becomes a home when it's full of life,
When there is no strife among its very own,
Life can be so sweet and heavenly
When you see a house become a home.

2-1-13 Studying

1. I love to read the holy scriptures,
And, ev’ry time I do,
I feel the Spirit start to grow within my heart—
A testimony that they’re true.

2. So, prayerfully I’ll read the scriptures
Each day my whole life through.
I’ll come to understand.
I’ll heed the Lord’s command
And live as he would have me do.

Chorus
Search, ponder, and pray
Are the things that I must do.
The Spirit will guide, and, deep inside,
I’ll know the scriptures are true.

2-2-13 Worlds without Number

And worlds without number have I created; and I also created them for mine own purpose; and by the Son I created them, which is mine Only Begotten.
(Moses 1: 33)
2-2-13 Jesus with Us

When we are on the Lord's errand, we have His promise that He will be with us.
2-2-13 Look to Jesus

I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12)
2-2-13 Sower

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Galatians 6:7-9

2-3-13 Light

Ye are the alight of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16
2-3-13 Like a Dove

Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Luke 3: 21-22
2-3-13 Path

My life is a gift; my life has a plan.
My life has a purpose; in heav'n it began.
My choice was to come to this lovely home on earth
And seek for God's light to direct me from birth.

I will follow God's plan for me,
Holding fast to his word and his love.
I will work, and I will pray;
I will always walk in his way.
Then I will be happy on earth
And in my home above.

Words and music: Vanja Y. Watkins, b. 1938. (c) 1981 IRI
2-3-13 Prayer

1. Heavenly Father, are you really there?
And do you hear and answer ev'ry child's prayer?
Some say that heaven is far away,
But I feel it close around me as I pray.
Heavenly Father, I remember now
Something that Jesus told disciples long ago:
"Suffer the children to come to me."
Father, in prayer I'm coming now to thee.

Pray, he is there;
Speak, he is list'ning.
You are his child;
His love now surrounds you.
He hears your prayer;
He loves the children.
Of such is the kingdom, the kingdom of heav'n.

Words and music: Janice Kapp Perry, b. 1938
(c) 1984 by Janice Kapp Perry.

2-3-13 Prayer

When I'm home or far away,
Heav'nly Father, hear me pray.
Keep me safely in thy sight;
Help me choose and do what's right.
Thanks for home and fam'ly too,
Many things to love and do.
Thou art very good to me.
Heav'nly Father, thanks to thee.

Words: Mary R. Jack, 1896-1985. (c) 1965 IRI
Music: Darwin Wolford, b. 1936; based on a melody by Norman Carl Ahern Jr., b. 1925. (c) 1965 IRI
2-4-13 Kids Singing

1. Sing praise to him who reigns above,
The Lord of all creation,
The source of pow'r, the fount of love,
The rock of our salvation.
With healing balm my soul he fills
And ev'ry faithless murmur stills.
To him all praise and glory!

2. What his almighty pow'r hath made
His gracious mercy keepeth.
By morning glow or evening shade
His watchful eye ne'er sleepeth.
Within the kingdom of his might,
Lo! all is just and all is right.
To him all praise and glory!

3. The Lord is never far away,
But, thru all grief distressing,
An ever-present help and stay,
Our peace and joy and blessing.
As with a mother's tender hand,
He leads his own, his chosen band.
To him all praise and glory!

4. Thus, all my toilsome way along
I sing aloud thy praises,
That men may hear the grateful song
My voice unwearied raises.
Be joyful in the Lord, my heart!
Both soul and body bear your part.
To him all praise and glory!

Text: Johann J. Schutz,1640-1690; trans. by Frances Elizabeth Cox, 1812-1897
Music: From Bohemian Brethren's Songbook, 1566, alt.

2-4-13 Little Children

Chorus:
Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red, brown, yellow, black, and white,
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Whether you're rich or whether you're poor
It matters not to Him
He remembers where you're going
Not where you've been

If your heart is troubled
Don't worry, don't you fret
He knows that you have heard His call
And he won't forget

All around the world tonight
His children rest assured
That He will watch and He will keep us
Safe and secure

2-5-13 Remember Jesus

And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

Luke 22:19-20

2-5-13 Sacrament

2-5-13 The Apostles

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.

Ephesians 4:11-13

2-5-13 The Little Child

Can a little child like me
Thank the Father fittingly?
Yes, oh yes! Be good and true,
Patient, kind in all you do!
Love the Lord and do your part;
Learn to say with all your heart:

Father, we thank thee!
Father, we thank thee!
Father in Heaven, we thank thee!

For the fruit upon the tree,
For the birds that sing of thee,
For the sunshine warm and bright,
For the day and for the night,
For the joyful work and true
That a little child may do,
Father, we thank thee!
Father, we thank thee!
Father in Heaven, we thank thee!

2-5-13 The Missionaries

(Source: http://mormonrules.com/list/missionary-rules)

I hope they call me on a mission
When I have grown a foot or two.
I hope by then I will be ready
To teach and preach and work as missionaries do.

I hope that I can share the gospel
With those who want to know the truth.
I want to be a missionary
And serve and help the Lord while I am in my youth.

2-6-13 Love

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:34-35)
2-6-13 Deseret

(clipart source: www.picstopin.com )

1. In our lovely Deseret,
Where the Saints of God have met,
There's a multitude of children all around.
They are generous and brave;
They have precious souls to save;
They must listen and obey the gospel's sound.

(Chorus)
Hark! Hark! Hark! 'tis children's music--
Children's voices, oh, how sweet,
When in innocence and love,
Like the angels up above,
They with happy hearts and cheerful faces meet.

2. That the children may live long
And be beautiful and strong,
Tea and coffee and tobacco they despise,
Drink no liquor, and they eat
But a very little meat;
They are seeking to be great and good and wise.

3. They should be instructed young
How to watch and guard the tongue,
And their tempers train and evil passions bind;
They should always be polite,
And treat ev'rybody right,
And in ev'ry place be affable and kind.

4. They must not forget to pray,
Night and morning ev'ry day,
For the Lord to keep them safe from ev'ry ill,
And assist them to do right,
That with all their mind and might
They may love him and may learn to do his will.

We need to teach our children that in the days ahead it will become increasingly more important to hearken to the prophet and accept his counsel as the word of the Lord. We need to teach them to not let anyone dissuade them from following the Lord's appointed servant.

Follow the Prophet

1. Adam was a prophet, first one that we know.
In a place called Eden, he helped things to grow.
Adam served the Lord by following his ways.
We are his descendants in the latter days.

Chorus
Follow the prophet, follow the prophet,
Follow the prophet; don't go astray.
Follow the prophet, follow the prophet,
Follow the prophet; he knows the way.

2. Enoch was a prophet; he taught what was good.
People in his city did just what they should.
When they were so righteous that there was no sin,
Heav'nly Father took them up to live with him.

3. Noah was a prophet called to preach the word,
Tried to cry repentance, but nobody heard.
They were busy sinning-Noah preached in vain.
They wished they had listened when they saw the rain.

4. Abraham the prophet prayed to have a son,
So the Lord sent Isaac as the chosen one.
Isaac begat Jacob, known as Israel;
Jacob's sons were twelve tribes, so the Bible tells.

5. Moses was a prophet sent to Israel.
He would lead them to the promised land to dwell.
They were slow to follow, or so it appears.
They were in the wilderness for forty years.

6. Samuel was a prophet chosen as a boy.
Hannah promised God her son would serve with joy.
In the tabernacle, Samuel heard his name;
He was called by God and answered, "Here I am!"

7. Jonah was a prophet, tried to run away,
But he later learned to listen and obey.
When we really try, the Lord won't let us fail:
That's what Jonah learned deep down inside the whale.

8. Daniel was a prophet. He refused to sin;
So the king threw Daniel in the lion's den.
Angels calmed the lions, and the king soon saw
Daniel's pow'r was great, for he obeyed God's law.

9. Now we have a world where people are confused.
If you don't believe it, go and watch the news.
We can get direction all along our way,
If we heed the prophets-follow what they say.

2-12-13 Jesus

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)

If with all your heart ye truly seek Me,
Ye shall ever surely find Me,
Thus saith our God.
If with all your heart ye truly seek Me,
Ye shall ever surely find Me,
Thus saith our God.
Thus saith our God.

Oh, that I knew where I might find Him,
That I might even come before His presence.
Oh, that I knew where I might find Him,
That I might even come before His presence,
Come before His presence.
Oh, that I knew where I might find Him.

If with all your heart ye truly seek Me,
Ye shall ever surely find Me,
Thus saith our God.
Ye shall ever surely find Me,
Thus saith our God.

2-22-13 Jesus Blesses

After Jesus was resurrected, He visited the people in the Americas. What a beautiful account of His love and kindness to His other sheep, as He healed their sick and blessed their children.
